Job Description
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Test and Develop the Noise and Vibration performance of North American Market Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.
- Conduct experimental Noise, Vibration and Aeroacoustic investigations including Transfer Path Analysis, Modal Analysis, and Sound Quality Analysis in support of prototype and pilot vehicle development.
- Perform NVH and Wind Noise subjective evaluations & objective testing, investigate problem root causes, develop appropriate countermeasures, and summarize findings in reports.
- Evaluate vehicle NVH performance with the North America Customers’ perspective in mind.
- Utilize experimental data acquisition systems and NVH analysis software (LMS Test Lab, HEAD Acoustics ArtemiS, ...).
- Collaborate with NVH and cross functional teams to develop and execute test plans, coordinate test vehicles, manage supplier activities and ensure efficient use of development resources.
- Conduct in-depth benchmarking of competitor vehicles and translate findings into actionable insights, recommended development direction and preliminary performance targets.
- Analyze and interpret customer feedback and quality data results with internal and external partners (J.D. Power IQS, Consumer Reports, social media, general media, and internal & external customer clinics).
- Interface regularly with Engineering Design Department and counterparts in our R&D Headquarters in Korea; contribute to joint investigations and development activities.
- Support vehicle NVH development activities at the Hyundai California Proving Ground.
- Support North American manufacturing plants, assisting with issue identification, troubleshooting and countermeasure implementation related to build, assembly and process variation during pilot and production stages.
- Contribute to the identification, evaluation and development of new NVH technologies, methodologies and strategies to improve performance and competitiveness of current and future Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.
- Participate in domestic and international drive evaluations, development trips and customer-perception events to assess vehicle NVH performance under a variety of conditions and environments.
- Independently manage assigned NVH projects, ensuring high-quality data, thorough analysis and on-time delivery of technical recommendations.
- Create and present clear, concise technical reports, presentations and project updates to management and cross-functional partners.
- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
