Saber Power Services, a portfolio company of Greenbelt Capital Partners, is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets. Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Saber Power Services is seeking a motivated and technically proficient Senior Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team, specializing in high voltage substations and switchyards, transmission lines, and battery energy storage system EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. The ideal candidate will leverage their engineering background and sales acumen to drive business growth, build strong customer relationships, and provide technical expertise in the high voltage sector. This role will be based in Houston, Texas in our Clear Lake corporate office. The position will report to the Manager of Pre-Construction Sales role as part of the Pre-Construction Sales Department within the Turnkey Solutions (TKS) Operations Division.
 

The Senior Sales Engineer plays a crucial role in driving business growth for our EPC projects. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise and sales skills to effectively engage with clients and Saber account managers, understand their needs, and deliver tailored commercial
solutions. The Senior Sales Engineer will work closely with project teams and stakeholders to develop competitive proposals, provide technical presentations to clients, and foster long-term client relationships. By leveraging in-depth knowledge of high voltage systems and market dynamics, the Senior Sales Engineer will contribute to achieving our company’s strategic TKS division objectives while ensuring client satisfaction and project success
 
 
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Qualify new TKS business opportunities, utilizing a consultative sales approach.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to develop tailored proposals that meet customer needs and align with company capabilities.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling technical explanations and proposals to clients, showcasing our services and value propositions.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to understand project requirements and constraints, providing accurate technical guidance to clients.
  • Own and execute the preparation of proposals, inclusive of bid documents, project scope, schedule narratives, and commercial / legal parameters.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners in the high voltage sector.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform strategic sales initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing sales support to clients during project execution to ensure satisfaction and foster long-term relationships.
  • Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote company offerings and expand professional connections.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns that effectively communicate our high voltage EPC capabilities.
  • Other responsibilities as delegated by management Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems engineering, or a related electrical field.
  • 5 years of proven experience in an engineering design or technical sales role within the high voltage or electrical infrastructure industry. 
  • Strong technical knowledge of substation and transmission line design, construction, and operation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
    Skills:
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with engineering design software.
    • Proficiency in computer skills and technical writing.
    • Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, site assessments, and industry events
