
L2 Inspector - Electrical
Job Description
Job Summary Perform hands-on quality assurance and control for mission-critical electrical systems on fast-paced hyperscale data center projects. Ensure flawless installation, testing, and compliance of HV/MV/LV distribution, switchgear, generators, UPS, busway, redundant power paths (2N/N+1), grounding, and related infrastructure to meet NEC, NFPA, IEEE, TIA-942, Uptime Institute, and hyperscale owner standards—with zero tolerance for defects or rework.

Key Responsibilities

Own the full lifecycle of vendor-related issues: logging, root-cause analysis, escalation, resolution tracking, and closure.

Coordinate directly with OEMs, manufacturers, and suppliers to expedite technical resolutions, parts, repairs, or replacements.

Conduct technical reviews of vendor submittals, RFIs, and troubleshooting documentation.

Facilitate vendor calls, site visits, and remote diagnostics to resolve issues quickly.

Maintain a live issue dashboard / punch list focused exclusively on vendor equipment items.

Work closely with commissioning, construction, and operations teams to minimize schedule impact.

Ensure all resolutions meet project specifications, reliability standards (Tier III/IV), and operational requirements.

Provide regular status updates and risk assessments on open vendor issues.
What You Will Bring!
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Years of Relevant Experience: 5+ years of experience in data center construction, commissioning, or mission-critical facilities.
- Strong technical knowledge of data center infrastructure (UPS, generators, chillers, CRAC/CRAH, PDUs, switchgear, BMS/EPMS, fire suppression, etc.).
- Proven track record coordinating with and escalating issues to major vendors (Vertiv, Schneider, Cummins, Eaton, Johnson Controls, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and escalation management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sequences of operations, and equipment manuals.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience using project management tools (Procore, Primavera P6, BIM 360, or similar).
- Previous experience as a Commissioning Engineer, Field Project Engineer, or Technical Vendor Manager on hyperscale or colocation data centers.
- Background working for an equipment manufacturer or systems integrator (big plus).
- Knowledge of data center redundancy, reliability, and failure mode analysis.
