
Insurance Specialist
Job Description
The law firm of Cozen O’Connor is seeking an Insurance Specialist to work with the firm’s billing team. This position will report to the Manager of Finance Insurance Operations. This is a hybrid (in the office 3 days a week) position in the Philadelphia office.
- Monitor Budget inbox emails (new matters from website, template requests, template submissions)
- Coordinate information with legal teams to submit budget requests, including follow ups when not returned in a timely manner
- Maintain budget history and information within a shared spreadsheet
- Follow up on new assignments to see if the firm has opened the matter for budget template submission
- Compare/Report frequent non-response users
- Backup to the Appeals Coordinators, which includes assisting on high volume days and when one is out of the office
- Assist with closing of subrogation matters and/or any other special projects
- Ability to handle voluminous workflow, prioritize workload and requests to meet deadlines
- Identify delayed responses/approvals which frequently cause invoice submission delays
- Thorough understanding of the client’s billing requirements, history and billing policies
- Must be proficient in MS Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and accuracy are a must
- Must be proactive, work well under pressure and excel in a fast paced environment
- Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, highly organized and reliable, have the ability to multi-task and work well in a team environment
- Professional and courteous communication with clients, attorneys, paralegals and staff are a must
- A high school diploma is required
- Electronic billing websites and Aderant experience preferred
- Knowledge and awareness of LEDES file requirements
- Law firm experience preferred
The salary range for this role is $55,000-$70,000 and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.
