Job Description

Hi, we're glad you're here! We are hiring to our Aviva Services Excellence Centre! Take a look at our job description - maybe it suits you or one of your friends?

Are you excited by delivering innovative AI solutions? Do you enjoy working with product, engineering, data science, risk, and business stakeholders to turn promising ideas into production-ready applications? Do you want to help shape how AI is delivered responsibly at Aviva?

At Aviva, we are building Generative and Agentic AI applications that improve colleague and customer outcomes across the business. This role sits in a team focused on taking AI use cases from idea through design, delivery, and adoption, while working within the governance, risk, and control expectations needed for responsible AI in financial services.

What will you be doing?

  • Leading the end-to-end delivery of GenAI applications across Aviva while leading a Scrum development team on a day-to-day basis

  • Working closely with the Product Owner and collaborating with engineers, data scientists, architects, risk, security, and business stakeholders to shape delivery plans, manage dependencies, remove blockers, and drive execution from discovery through to production and adoption

  • Helping establish a strong delivery rhythm across sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring the team delivers at pace while meeting the governance, control, and assurance expectations required for GenAI use cases in a regulated environment.

  • Working with a team delivering impactful AI products, shaping practical ways of working, and helping Aviva scale AI safely and effectively.

What we’re looking for?

  • Proven experience in delivery, project, or programme roles within technology, data, digital, or AI teams, with solid experience leading cross-functional delivery.

  • The ability to work at pace with resiliency whilst showing a willingness to try new ways of working and solutions to energise/motivate the project team to drive forward and deliver outcomes.

  • Strong foundation in project management skills including agile through all phases from discovery through to benefits realisation. Understanding of delivery tools, and project management best practices.

  • Experience leading a Scrum or Agile development team, with a good understanding of sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Ability to work in close partnership with the Product Owner and coordinate across engineering, data science, architecture, and business teams, while managing risks, dependencies, issues, and delivery trade-offs.

  • Good stakeholder management skills, with confidence working with senior stakeholders and challenging constructively when needed to keep delivery on track.

  • Understanding of governance, risk, and control considerations for AI or data-led solutions, including the importance of responsible use, security, privacy, and assurance in a regulated environment.

  • Experience supporting teams through delivery lifecycle stages such as discovery, experimentation, pilot, productionisation, and adoption.

Nice to have:

  • Experience delivering Generative AI, Agentic AI, machine learning, data, or digital products

  • Exposure to responsible AI, model governance, risk, compliance, or control processes

  • Experience in financial services, insurance, or another regulated environment
