Join us and you’ll find an inclusive, supportive environment where your contribution is valued, high performance is recognised, and you’re empowered to shape your development.
We are looking for a highly motivated credit investment professional to join our Structured & Private Debt (SPD) team, supporting origination, investment analysis, and structuring activities across North America. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, cross-regional team with exposure to complex transactions and leading institutional clients, particularly within the insurance sector.
As one of Europe’s largest real assets managers, we take an owner’s approach to investment. From infrastructure to real estate and private debt, we make disciplined, high-conviction decisions that create long-term value for clients and communities.
A bit about the role:
You will play a key part in driving investment performance, supporting portfolio growth, and maintaining strong relationships with borrowers, sponsors, and intermediaries. This role also offers exposure to complex, high-impact investment decisions requiring a blend of technical expertise, commercial judgment, and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting origination, evaluation, and execution of structured and private debt transactions
- Conducting detailed credit and legal due diligence, alongside quantitative analysis and scenario testing
- Portfolio management - monitoring performance of existing portfolio investments and identifying risks or opportunities
- Assisting in the structuring of investments to meet both client and regulatory requirements
- Acting as a local investment interface for distribution teams in client and investor discussions, particularly with insurance clients
- Collaborating closely with SPD origination and Portfolio Management teams across regions
- Contributing to investment decisions that directly impact client outcomes
This job advertisement relates to an active vacancy and has been advertised both internally and externally.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- 3–5 years’ relevant experience, with a strong interest in private credit and insurance-focused investing, ideally gained within an investment management environment, insurance investment team, or an actuarial consultancy
- Financial modelling, including sensitivity analysis and familiarity with quantitative credit rating models
- Experience across key areas such as asset allocation, ALM, derivatives, structured credit, or private markets/private debt (including investment-grade and structured credit)
- Strong understanding of North American insurance regulation (particularly Canadian capital and solvency frameworks) and how regulation impacts asset selection, structuring, and portfolio construction
- Solid grounding in private markets/private debt, including credit fundamentals, structuring considerations, and risk/return dynamics, with the ability to assess investments from both an investment and insurance balance sheet perspective
In this role you’ll be ‘Certified’ under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we’ll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we’ll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain ‘fit and proper’ and competent to carry out your role. We’ll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.
