Works with Production Managers and Supervisors to implement department and group goals for Production Control staff to reduce operational costs and improve efficiency

Responsible for Master Production Schedule and weekly/daily production planning, issuing and tracking work orders, ensuring that required material is supplied to the production floor in accordance with the production schedule, expediting and prioritizing work orders, as well as reporting on and communicating production status for Lake Forest Manufacturing (LFM) and Antenna Manufacturing (ANT)

Enforces all company policy and procedures

Assists in training production control staff to ensure effective production control and to provide opportunities for future growth and advancement

Provides a climate for motivation, creates a supportive working relationship with staff, and emphasizes continual improvement

Managing the PC&P department Responsible for developing, issuing and revising master production schedule and detailed production plans and coordinating schedules to optimize capacity utilization for all production in a complex electro-mechanical and RF manufacturing environment (high mix/low volume and low mix/high volume, both build to stock and build to order, line and cellular assembly with some dynamically changing products) and coordinates flow of work within or between departments

Devise alternative action plan for a program under critical situations, problem solves to mitigate impact: identify, implement, and execute recovery plan working with all relevant team members to revise production schedules due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with Management, Procurement, Production, Quality, ME or Engineering – keeps management appraised of any issues that impact OTD and recovery

Confers with department supervisors and/or Leads to determine progress of work and to provide information on changes in processing methods received from Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering departments

Responsible for quality and timeliness of Master Production Schedule(s) and weekly/daily production planning, issuing and tracking work orders, ensuring that required material is supplied to the production floor in accordance with the production schedule, expediting and prioritizing work orders, as well as reporting/communicating production status

Ensure each Stake Holders are updated on program status and any change request which impacts program and delivery dates

Attend technical and status coordination meetings and present as required

Verify shipment of LFM products

Responsible for maintaining 5S requirements and a clean and safe work environment within the department

Manages the Production Control Department budget

Monitors and maintains integrity of inventory levels of finished goods

Responsible for Manufacturing Inventory such as Point of Use Inventory and accuracy and all WIP

Incorporates APICS best practices

Supervisory Manages Production Control department (mostly professional level employees) in the day-to-day performance of their jobs

Verifies that Production Control personnel are properly performing their assigned tasks, that procedures are being followed and that manufacturing timelines are being achieved

Aligns and goals for the Production Control Department with those established by upper management and flows down to the department

Responsible for evaluating performance, promoting, training, development, hiring/firing Production Control employees

Issues assignments to Production Control department personnel and moves resources and priorities to meet schedule demands

Process Responsible for recommending, creating and implementing Production Control department systems and processes

Recommends improvements in methods, procedures and/or equipment to achieve or exceed committed goals of quality and/or quantity of product being produced

Prepares, collects and maintains reports such as job status, units shipped, units built, rework hours and monthly squawks for weekly and monthly department production reports and utilizes this information to proactively implement continuous improvement

Use ERP system to track and locate parts, document issues, status production units and create, release, and manage Work Orders

Demonstrates Production Control techniques and tools to workers, implements lessons learned and corrective actions, documents training completed by staff

Track and status engineering data/documents necessary for shipment of LFM product

The wage range of $89,000 - $149,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package

Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location

This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives (please also ensure to include a full list of “other forms of compensation” applicable to any posting too, and this would include GEB, NQDC, commissions, profit-sharing, as just some illustrative examples)

What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree or 14 years of related work experience. 5 years management experience in manufacturing environment. 10 years experience in Manufacturing, MRP, Planning and Material functions

Technical or mechanical/electrical assembly background required

Prior use of Oracle ERP preferred

Lean/Six Sigma and 5S Certification highly desirable

APICS certification required

Ability to determine work priorities and delegate work to others

Excellent communicator and interpersonal skills, ability to perform in a team environment with good interpersonal skills

Provides leadership to and/or technical guidance to production control personnel

Strong comprehension of configuration management, production and process control

Proficient computer skills to access released drawings and operate ORACLE to run reports

Must be able to work in a changing fast-paced environment

Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously

Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance

Ability to maintain safe, clean and organized work areas

Must be able to learn new skills when presented new information

Problem Solving/Analysis Excellent time management, follow-up and multi-tasking ability

Have a technical knowledge of Panasonics products, able to provide viable options/solutions and resolution to various problems

Must be able to lift 25 pounds unaided

Ability to stand/walk for an extended period of time

Must be flexible and provide adequate coverage of 2nd shift as required
