
Cost Specialist
Job Description
Resumen This position supports financial planning, inventory accuracy, standard cost maintenance, variance analysis, and operational decision-making to ensure cost efficiency and compliance with company policies and financial regulations. Responsabilidades Mains Responsibilities: Analyze manufacturing costs, labor, overhead, and material variances. Prepare and maintain standard cost structures for products and manufacturing processes. Monitor inventory transactions and support cycle count and physical inventory activities. Review BOMs (Bill of Materials) and routing accuracy within the ERP system. Perform monthly closing activities related to cost accounting. Prepare cost reports, financial analyses, and management presentations. Support budgeting and forecasting activities for manufacturing operations. Identify cost-saving opportunities and support operational efficiency initiatives. Validate purchase price variances and manufacturing performance metrics. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and maquiladora regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial and operational processes. Support internal and external audits by providing required financial documentation and analysis. Assist in fixed asset tracking and capitalization processes when required. Generate KPI reports related to production costs, scrap, labor efficiency, and inventory accuracy. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. 3–5 years of experience in Cost Accounting or Finance within a manufacturing/maquiladora environment. Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory control, and variance analysis. Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar. Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities. Knowledge of maquiladora operations, IMMEX processes, and manufacturing environments preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Intermediate to advanced English proficiency preferred.
