
Shipping/Receiving Clerk
Job Description
Seeking team member to verify, keep records of and prepare items for incoming and outgoing shipments. Will operate forklifts to move materials, equipment and product in manufacturing warehouse setting.
What you’ll be doing: Under minimum supervision, prepare the items for shipment including creation, and verification of the proper records for incoming and outgoing shipments. Perform as material handler for operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Assist truck drivers, insuring the compliance with all RFC procedures and safety guidelines.
- Responsible for ensuring lifting devices are inspected, serviced, and maintained and for performing and documenting regular inspections, which could include checking lubrications, filling fuel tank, changing batteries, or replacing liquefied gas tanks.
- Operate lift equipment to move, load and unload materials onto or from pallets, racks, shelves and boxes by hand or with lifting devices in order to deliver material to and from the production areas.
- Responsible for loading and unloading trucks with lift equipment, including the creation of all documentation required for incoming and outgoing shipments. Must insure material is properly packed, labeled and verified for accuracy against bill of lading, pack list and any other records.
- Record shortages and corresponds with appropriate internal department to advise appropriate personnel of damage, potential damage, part count, or other discrepancies.
- Responsible for maintaining material areas which must be clean and in order with proper tagging on all materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Should have knowledge of Manufacturing software.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
