You’ll help lay the foundation for humanity's future. Join a culture where innovation thrives, curiosity is rewarded, and impact is real. We’re a company of doers, thinkers and builders, united by purpose and grounded in reality.

If you want to put your skills to work where the stakes are real and the mission is bigger than any one person, forge the future with Voyager.

The Director, Data and Cloud is responsible for defining and executing Voyager's enterprise data and cloud strategy, building the platforms and capabilities that power mission-critical decision-making across the company. This leader will architect and scale Voyager's cloud infrastructure, data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML foundations — ensuring that data is treated as a strategic asset from ingestion through insight.

The position reports to the Chief Information Officer and is part of the Information Technology organization. This role is remote.

In this role, the essential functions are:

  • Define and own Voyager's enterprise data and cloud strategy, including multi-year roadmaps for cloud infrastructure, data platforms, analytics, and AI/ML capabilities that align with corporate objectives and mission requirements
  • Architect and govern Voyager's cloud environment — spanning IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS — across public, private, and hybrid deployment models, ensuring scalability, security, and cost efficiency
  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data architecture, including data lakes, data warehouses, data pipelines, and real-time streaming capabilities that serve Voyager's business units and operational functions
  • Establish and enforce enterprise data governance frameworks, including data ownership, data quality standards, metadata management, and data lineage to ensure trusted, auditable, and compliant data assets
  • Partner with business unit leaders, program managers, and technical teams to translate operational and analytical requirements into scalable data and cloud solutions
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of cloud architects, data engineers, data analysts, and platform engineers; attract, retain, and grow talent in a competitive environment
  • Drive the adoption of advanced analytics, business intelligence, and AI/ML capabilities that enable data-driven decision-making at scale across Voyager's enterprise
  • Manage cloud financial operations (FinOps), including budget ownership, cost optimization, consumption governance, and executive-level reporting on cloud investment performance
  • Ensure cloud and data environments meet all applicable security, compliance, and regulatory requirements including ITAR, CMMC, FedRAMP, and relevant U.S. government mandates
  • Manage strategic vendor and technology partner relationships, including cloud service providers, systems integrators, and platform vendors, driving SLA accountability and commercial discipline
  • Partner closely with the CIO to present data and cloud strategy, roadmap progress, risk posture, and investment recommendations to executive leadership and the board
  • Serve as a cross-functional integrator, ensuring data and cloud initiatives are coordinated across IT, engineering, finance, operations, and business development teams

  • Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP), including architecture, security, identity, networking, and cost management at enterprise scale
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling enterprise data platforms, including data lakes, warehouses, and analytical ecosystems supporting large, complex organizations
  • Proven track record establishing data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and enterprise data strategy in a multi-business-unit environment
