
Engineer I - iSeries Power Systems (Onsite)
Job Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Administer, maintain and support iSeries/Power Systems hardware and software.
· Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on iSeries / Power Systems. Escalate incidents as necessary.
· Manage incoming service request and incidents through the Help Desk Ticketing System as related to iSeries / Power Systems activities.
· Interact with vendors, peers, and contractors to ensure secure, reliable systems implementations and upgrades are performed within project parameters.
· Monitor iSeries / Power System File systems shares and permissions.
· Monitor system performance, deliver system performance statistics and reports. Document server software and hardware configurations.
· Plan and implement software and hardware upgrades, patches (PTFs) and repairs.
· Ensure system backups are solvent and validated regularly as part of a disaster recovery.
· Maintain a proper test environment that reflects production issues.
· Safety is an essential function of this job.
· Consistent and regular attendance including on-call availability on a rotational basis is an essential function of this job.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
