Job Description

About the Unit

The Transportation Analyst will support the Yara North America Transportation Team through facilitating projects, decision-support, asset management, position backup, and excellence in focus areas. The Transportation Analyst will report to the Transportation Manager. The position will be based in Tampa, FL and will offer a hybrid working schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Help the team create implementation & maintain category strategies.
  • Provide support on the day-to-day tactical decisions.
  • Assist the Transportation Manager in managing railcar assets by supporting forecasting, reporting, and lease administration (including allocating and approving costs in WF). Provide coordination for storage planning, railcar compliance testing, repairs, maintenance, cleaning activities, and support effective fleet and sub‑fleet positioning.
  • Make sure backup is provided for each team member and understand their jobs.
  • Ensure teammates excel at SME, SRM and transport excellence for their region.
  • Develop a basic understanding for all river system operations, providing support to teammate responsible for barge and vessel movement, and ensuring coordinated, high-performance execution across the network.
  • Play a supporting role in coordinating across the supply chain by working with various internal teams and external partners, helping maintain strong cross‑functional communication, and assisting the Transportation
  • Manager in supporting commercial initiatives.
  • Develop a basic knowledge of FRA rules and regulations.
  • Develop a basic knowledge of Hazmat rules and regulations.
  • Willing to travel to learn and understand operations and ensure alignment across the network.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree or minimum 3 years of experience in Transportation and Logistics.
  • Background in supply chain, training or agriculture is a plus.
  • Familiarity with handling bulk materials and commodities.
  • Understanding of supplier relationship management.
  • Project management skills.
  • Cross training ability (train & be trained).
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Solid numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel).
  • ERP experience (e.g. RLS/SAP/S4HANA).
  • Ability to travel on an as needed basis depending on business needs.
