Job Description:
The role of the Director of Surgical Posting will have a significant impact on the overall efficiency and compliance of the surgical scheduling process by leading and overseeing all aspects of surgical case posting within our organization. This role will be responsible for ensuring consistent, accurate, and efficient surgical
scheduling practices across the entire surgical team, with a direct focus on maintaining the highest level of compliance and regulatory standards and best practices. The Director will provide strategic direction, manage a team of Surgical Schedulers, and implement initiatives to optimize surgical posting workflows and
support optimal patient care.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and execute a comprehensive program to ensure compliance with surgical posting regulations and accreditation standards, focusing on stacking ASC cases, preventing provider split schedules, and ensuring adequate coverage during absences.
· Lead and manage a team of Surgical Posters, providing ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
· Oversee the evaluation of surgical posting skills across the organization, identifying areas for improvement and implementing targeted training initiatives, including maintaining a timely ASC/hospital schedule and optimizing volumes per surgical poster.
· Analyze surgical posting workflows thoroughly, seeking opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancement while fostering a strong relationship with USPI/CUA and ensuring timely communication with providers for schedule management.
· Collaborate with the Director of Operations, Senior and other key stakeholders to develop and implement new surgical scheduling protocols and best practices.
· Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for new and existing surgical posters, ensuring a thorough understanding of policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
· Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to surgical posting accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. Examples include:
o Optimization of Surgical Poster Staff Workload: Ensure that the surgical scheduling staff is effectively managed and optimized to maintain a full workload for all schedulers.
o Minimization of Missed Opportunities: Implement strategies to minimize the number of missed opportunities, i.e., cases that are scheduled outside of the Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) but could have been scheduled within the ASC.
o Minimization of Anesthesia Subsidy Losses: Coordinate with surgical and anesthesia teams to optimize case scheduling, ensuring that daily anesthesia minimums are met and cases are efficiently stacked to reduce subsidy losses.
o Reduce the number of Late Notice and Same Day Cancellations o Reduction of Pre-op Errors and Timely PAT Assessments: Implement protocols to minimize pre-op errors and ensure compliance with pre-admission testing (PAT) assessments.
· Identify and implement cost-saving measures within the surgical posting function while maintaining the highest quality of service.
· Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes in surgical scheduling practices and ensure continuous improvement of the surgical scheduling program.
· Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment for the Surgical Scheduling team, promoting open communication and continuous learning.

Required or Preferred Qualifications:
· Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a healthcare setting, with a strong background in surgical services or scheduling required.
· Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
· Urology or surgical experience preferred.

· Proven track record of success in developing and implementing operational improvement initiatives.
· In-depth knowledge of surgical scheduling regulations and best practices.
· Exceptional leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the capacity to identify and implement solutions for workflow inefficiencies.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
· Proficient in healthcare information systems (HIS) and relevant software applications
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $100,000 - $125,000 annually
Actual compensation offered to candidates is based on work experience, education, skill level, and geographic location. Compensation may vary depending on the state or region in which the position is located, in accordance with applicable laws.
