Job Description

Join BakerRipley’s Rural Capital Child Care Services team as an Early Education Mentor and play a transformative role in elevating early childhood programs across a nine-county region surrounding Travis County. In this dynamic and relationship-driven position, you’ll partner closely with child care providers participating in Texas Rising Star (TRS), delivering hands-on mentoring, coaching, and technical assistance that strengthens classroom quality, supports inclusion, and drives continuous improvement. Through on-site and virtual engagements, you’ll guide providers in achieving and maintaining TRS standards, preparing for monitoring, and enhancing program systems that directly impact children, families, and educators. You’ll also track progress, ensure compliance with regulatory and workforce requirements, and collaborate with internal teams and community partners to improve service delivery and outcomes. Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Child Psychology, Educational Psychology, Elementary Education, or Family and Consumer Sciences; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in another field, with a minimum of 12 credit hours in Early Childhood Education AND 18 credit hours in Child Development, Special Education, Child Psychology, Educational Psychology, Elementary Education, or Family and Consumer Sciences; OR
  • Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Child Psychology, Educational Psychology, Elementary Education, or Family and Consumer Sciences, along with a minimum of two years of experience serving as a director in an early childhood program. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in programs that are nationally accredited or Texas Rising Star certified.

Experience

  • A minimum of one year of full-time early childhood classroom experience in a child care center, Early Head Start, Head Start, or prekindergarten through third-grade school program.
