Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, performs responsible professional and technical work in the development of project scheduling requirements and documentation of a technical nature for utility construction projects and power plant outages.  Procedures are established and a number of specific guidelines are available, requiring judgment in locating and selecting the most appropriate methods, techniques and procedures to apply to specific cases. Solves routine and recurring problems and identifies and suggests solutions to less complex problems. Completed work is reviewed for technical accuracy and compliance with instructions or established procedures. Regular contact with other utility companies, management and various department representatives at all organizational levels is required to obtain, clarify or provide facts and information.  

EXAMPLES OF WORK: 
•    Prepares project schedules which include development and maintenance of schedule reporting functions and the establishment and implementation of scheduling procedures for construction projects and power plant outages.
•    Develops project networks with planned activities, relationships and durations.
•    Analyzes the impacts of re-sequencing work for projects.
•    Prepares technical progress reports, reviews contract requirements for scheduling, and identifies potential events which could significantly affect the project schedule.
•    Works with others to make judgments about the details of work activities and how the details will affect the project schedule.
•    Studies and evaluates project proposal documents and specific work orders, and determines the scope of the technical and construction work requirements.
•    Develops and utilizes a critical path method (CPM) to determine the correct sequence for flow of work activity and modifies the CPM.
•    Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.
•    Performs other job-related work as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Construction Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

Must have two (2) years experience in project scheduling for a major utility or an engineering consulting firm.

Progressively responsible experience as specified above, beyond the two (2) years required, may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required four (4) years of college training.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:  
A valid driver’s license is required prior to employment and must be maintained during employment in this classification.

The minimum salary for this position is $76,460.80 annually. Compensation will be determined based on education, licenses, certifications, skills, experience, and alignment with salaries for similar roles within the organization.
