Job Description

Position Overview

Prysmian is looking for a HSE Head to lead Health, Safety and Environmental management at our manufacturing plant in Costa Rica. This role is critical to ensuring safe and environment operations, legal compliance, sustainability and the deployment of Prysmian’s “Zero and Beyond” safety culture.

Role Purpose

Lead, implement and continuously improve Health, Safety and Environmental systems to ensure zero accidents, occupational diseases, legal compliance and the sustainable continuity of plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management Systems.
  • Deploy Prysmian Corporate HSE standards and programs.
  • Ensure investigation and closure of accidents, incidents and near misses.
  • Promote proactive safety programs (BBS, DDS, Safety Walks, H-FACS).
  • Ensure compliance with local HSE regulations and manage inspections.
  • Define and monitor HSE KPIs (IF, IG, legal compliance).
  • Lead emergency response plans and drills.
  • Exercise authority to stop unsafe work or processes.
  • Develop and execute annual HSE training and safety plans.
  • Report HSE performance to LATAM and Corporate leadership.
  • To implement a Safety and environment Corporative strategy

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Specialization in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental
  • +10 years of experience in HSE leadership roles within manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Internal Auditor certification (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001).
  • Advanced or professional English.
