Position Summary
This position provides high‑level administrative, editorial, and coordination support to an interdisciplinary environmental team within the Department of the Air Force. Responsibilities include managing complex schedules, producing and reviewing high‑quality correspondence and technical documentation consistent with Air Force and DoD requirements, supporting NEPA workflows, and conducting GIS‑informed document quality reviews. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to respond rapidly, including nights and weekends, in support of a nationally critical infrastructure program.
The ideal candidate is a motivated self‑starter with a strong work ethic, experience working on military lands, and knowledge of natural and cultural resource regulatory policy and DoD CONUS/OCONUS environmental approval processes. Success in this fast‑paced, high‑visibility environment requires flexibility, adaptability under pressure, and the ability to collaborate professionally, communicate clearly, and navigate challenges constructively while managing shifting priorities.
This position is 100% Remote/Telework with frequent travel (approx. 25%) for in-person meetings.
Essential Duties
Ensure all outgoing correspondence and documents comply with DoD/DAF standards (AFH 33-337).
Maintain version control, document management, and quality control workflows.
Prepare agendas, meeting minutes, decision logs, and track critical tasks.
Support NEPA permitting and compliance tracking workflows via ArcGIS Online Hub platform.
Assist with the preparation of summary reports, SWOT analyses, and COAs regarding Clean Air Act, Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, NAGPRA, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and CERCLA compliance tracking.
Coordinate across interdisciplinary teams and stakeholder groups.
Coordinate multiple schedules and manage leadership calendars.

Conditions of Employment
Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for all new hires).
Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by the employment start date.
Must be able to comply with all applicable regulations to obtain a Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC) and public trust clearance. Candidates are required, at a minimum, to complete a NACI/SF85 and successfully pass a federal background check to remain eligible for employment by CEMML.
The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; the department will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Position requires reliable connectivity and an appropriate secure workspace
Ability to work independently and be on call to respond rapidly including on nights/weekends as required.

No supervisory responsibility
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree
At least 10-years of professional experience, which demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities related to essential duties of this position
Prior experience working with or for the Department of the Air Force
Demonstrated NEPA experience
Demonstrated experience in GIS (ArcGIS Pro/Online or equivalent)
Demonstrated experience in technical writing, editing, and compliance with DoD/DAF standards (AFH 33-337)
Demonstrated experience reviewing lengthy, technical documents and provide concise summaries and clear recommendations for action or decision. (job description/interview)
Preferred Qualifications
Greater than 10 years of relevant professional experience
Air Force-specific project experience with the Sentinel Program
Demonstrated experience guiding SWOT analyses
Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis and corrective action tools and techniques
Experience with environmental planning, cultural resources, or natural resource programs
Familiarity with stakeholder engagement, public involvement, meeting logistics, and comment adjudication
Skills in project management tools such as MS Planner, Project, or Smartsheet
Demonstrated Microsoft 365 proficiency (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Salary Range
