Position Summary:
Facilities Management is entrusted with the development, care, maintenance, and operation of Colorado State University’s physical properties. Under the direction and supervision of a Custodian II and / or Custodian III this position provides a range of custodial services to building occupants including but not limited to cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, removal of trash and recyclable materials, window and entry glass cleaning, carpeted and hardfloor maintenance including vacuuming, spot cleaning and extracting of carpeted floors and vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, burnishing, stripping and refinishing of hard surface floors.
This position will be working from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 am servicing federal buildings on campus. Since this position is servicing Federal buildings, a federal background check is required, and a federal holiday schedule will be followed.
Job Duties
Custodial Services:
Perform routine custodial services, including but not limited to cleaning, sanitizing and stocking of restrooms, removal of trash and recyclable materials, window and entry glass cleaning, dusting of horizontal surfaces, carpeted and hard floor maintenance, including vacuuming, spot cleaning and extracting of carpeted floors, mopping, scrubbing, burnishing, stripping and refinishing of hard surface floors.
Building Access and Security:
Provide for building access and security through snow removal services both within the regular Monday through Friday work schedule, as well as on weekends as necessary, and through daily unlock and lock-up services.
Athletics and University Events
Provide custodial support for athletic and university events campus-wide , both within the regular Monday through Friday work schedule as well as on weekends when necessary.
Decision Making
Make decisions regarding how to address individual customer service requests and how to complete assigned tasks effectively and efficiently.

Essential Services Designation- Required to report without delay or interruption to provide essential or emergency services to ensure health, safety, and welfare.
Shift Work
On-call Status – May be called in outside of normal hours to assist with snow removal or flood clean-up.

Special Requirement: This position requires HSPD-12 Clearance.
Minimum Qualifications
Six months of custodial services experience in an institutional or commercial environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating and/or maintaining basic custodial tools with very little supervision.
Experience with the operation and use of vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, wet/dry vacuums, floor scrubbing and/or polishing machines, buffing and/or other related cleaning operations.
Experience with snow removal.
Ability to utilize computers and other electronic mobile devices for business needs and team communication.
Strong customer service skills
