Job Description
The Production Supervisor oversees production in the assigned manufacturing area. The Production supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the manufacturing processes. Managing a team consisting of Team Leader(s) and production operators, you will be responsible for ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and adaptability in a manufacturing environment characterized by a rapidly changing product mix. As the area leader, the Production Supervisor sets the example for others and builds a culture of Safety and
Continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
Team Leadership
Lead and motivate a team consisting of Team Leader(s) and production operators, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members, encouraging continuous improvement and skill development.
Safety Compliance
Never compromise on safety and build a culture of compliance, prevention, and continuous improvement for all aspects of safety.
Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions to maintain a safe working environment.
Quality Assurance
Maintain the highest level of quality in the production areas and collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that products meet or exceed the established quality standards.
Maintain applicable quality records and ensure the production area adheres to all quality requirements
Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to address quality issues.
Productivity Optimization
Develop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing efficiency and overall productivity.
Collaborate with the direct supervisors and peers to identify and implement process improvements.
Resource Management
Effectively allocate resources, including manpower and equipment, to meet production demands.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of materials and information.
Implement cross-training and operator onboarding plans to maintain qualified personnel for all required job skills.
Communication and Reporting
Maintain open and transparent communication channels with team members and upper management.
Provide regular reports on Gemba/control tower meetings, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
What You’ll Bring
Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or equivalent(preferred)
3+ years experience in manufacturing operations in a front-line leadership role
Experience working in an ERP system for production scheduling, reporting, and inventory management
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as in groups
