Job Description
The O&M Manager will be responsible for all the O&M needs arising from the company`s PV portfolio in Central and Eastern Europe, which includes Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Serbia, Czech Republic and might include more countries in the region in the future. The main responsibility will be to maximize production and billing of the power plant to meet or exceed the business plan, minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
General:
- Plan and execute the entire O&M process of all PV plants, from Start of operational life until contract end
- Assist the PV construction team with plant commissioning and initial performance testing
- Deal with and manage site operators and other stakeholders such as the client/off-taker/grid operator/land owner
- Liaising with the client on all maintenance interventions on site
- Ensure that the plants are operating in accordance with the contractual obligations of the off take agreement with the client and the O&M contract of the contractors
- Travel to various project sites around central and eastern Europe on a regular basis
Contractor and Sub-contractors management:
- Identify, contract and manage contractors for all O&M activities that are required (module cleaning, corrective maintenance, monitoring), especially those activities that are not part of standard O&M contracts
- Manage, maintain and challenge all commercial and operational aspects of the O&M contracts
Reporting:
- Monitor and report on performance on a weekly basis using the range of tools and contractors at the O&M manager`s disposal
- Report on monthly performance to management and the client and assist the finance department with monthly PV production invoiceable values
Performance:
- Track and monitor equipment performance and build applicable maintenance (and replacement) strategies
- Perform deep-dive analysis on the PV plants performance
- Monitor and report on actual performance vs budgeted and expected performances and motivate/explain differences (losses) and initiate claims for underperformance due to clipping and other claimable losses (be it from the client or O&M contractor)
- Prepare O&M budgets and performance forecasts
QHSE:
- Ensure QHSE rules are enforced during O&M operations
- Planning of all O&M related site work and ensuring adherence to all applicable rules and regulations (such as HSE and site rules)
- Management of HSE compliance of team and all contractors, in coordination with GY HSE Corporate team
Others
- Aid the Development team in setting-up O&M solutions, discuss with potential contractors/other parties or negotiating O&M agreements before financial close of future projects
- Manage existing stock and critical spares for the company`s PV plants
- Control O&M spending to stay in line with the financial budgets
- Quantify, specify and procure all mayor components, tools, or equipment needed to maintain, restore, or improve operations
- Insurance Claim Management
- Train or coordinate the training of employees in operations, safety, environmental issues, or technical issues
- Coordinate with the central corporate Asset and O&M management team
SKILLS
- Highly skilled in the management, monitoring and reporting of PV plant performance
- Highly skilled in PV plant data analysis
- Intimate knowledge of energy metering and reporting
- O&M subcontractors contract management
- Knowledgeable in normal client invoice reporting
- Knowledgeable on all relevant PV component brands, suppliers and manufacturers
- Good working knowledge of remote monitoring systems and platforms
- Highly skilled in the use of PV simulation programs such as Helioscope, PVSyst and SolarGIS
- Highly skilled in the use of MS Excel and PowerBI
QUALIFICATIONS
- Relevant engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Power, Environmental - Engineering)
- At least 4 years engineering experience in the PV industry, of which at least 2 was in a technical capacity
- At least 1 year experience specifically in ground mounted solar PV O&M with a strong electrical background
- At least 2 years of O&M experience
- English Language Fluency (Czech, Bulgarian, Hungarian, and/or Slovak a plus)
