Description

Infor is seeking a Senior Solution Consultant (Presales) with deep expertise in the Automotive industry (ideally Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to join our Japan team. This role combines hands-on solution consulting with leadership responsibilities as an Automotive industry team lead. The successful candidate will drive sales opportunities by delivering compelling, value-driven demonstrations of Infor CloudSuite solutions, while collaborating with sales, consulting, and partner teams to ensure customer success.

 The Senior Solution Consultant will act as a trusted advisor, leveraging their automotive industry knowledge and ERP expertise to articulate business value, scope tailored solutions, and lead strategic engagements. This role requires strong business acumen, leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage complex sales cycles while fostering collaboration across teams.

 Duties and Responsibilities
 Solution Demonstrations & Presentations: 
  • Lead and deliver compelling, tailored demonstrations of Infor CloudSuite solutions, focusing on automotive-specific processes in supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, and quality management. 
  • Present to diverse audiences, including end-users, management, and C-level executives, both remotely and in-person, showcasing standard industry capabilities and tailored POC scenarios as needed. 
  • Differentiate Infor’s solutions from competitors by highlighting unique value propositions and business outcomes. 
Customer Engagement & Strategy: 
  • Conduct discovery sessions to uncover customer business needs, strategic objectives, and key metrics driving solution evaluations. 
  • Translate customer requirements into detailed technical offerings, proposals, and strategic technology roadmaps aligned with Infor solutions. 
  • Partner with account executives to define account strategies, scope solutions, and prepare for prospect interactions. 
Team Leadership & Collaboration: 
  • Serve as the Automotive industry team lead, mentoring and guiding junior solution consultants to build a high-performing presales team.
  • Collaborate with sales, consulting, product marketing, and value engineering teams to develop and execute compelling presentations and demonstrations. 
  • Support the transition from sales to implementation by creating high-level success roadmaps that align with customer goals. 
Value Selling & Configuration: 
  • Conduct value assessments to identify and quantify customer-specific business benefits, aligning these insights with tailored presentations and demonstrations to showcase Infor CloudSuite’s value. 
  • Configure demo instances for proof-of-concept (POC) scenarios to demonstrate the feasibility and business impact of Infor solutions. 
  • Stay updated on upcoming product functionality, enhance demonstration environments, and share configurations with the broader Solution Consulting team. 
  • Provide technical, product, and non-functional responses for RFIs and RFPs, emphasizing outcome-driven solutions. 
Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing: 
  • Contribute to the Solution Consulting community by maintaining RFP response repositories, presentation collateral, and demo content. 
  • Participate in marketing events, trade shows, and value engineering engagements to promote Infor’s automotive solutions. 
  • Drive continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, configurations, and best practices with the team. 
Travel & Flexibility: 
  • Travel as required within Japan and occasionally internationally for customer engagements, team collaboration, and professional development. 


A Typical Day in the Life Includes

  • conduct proposal activities for companies in the automotive industry from the following perspectives:
  • Communicate with prospects based on industry knowledge to identify customer value
  • Conduct Value Assessment workshops to propose solutions that address business challenges and enhance enterprise value
  • Present solution demonstrations to illustrate how our offerings can help improve enterprise value and solve key issues for the prospect


Basic Qualifications:

Skills/Qualifications/Experience
  • Knowledge of business models in the automotive industry
  • Expertise in ERP systems
  • Strong communication skills with customers
  • Proposal and presentation skills
Industry Expertise:
  • Extensive experience in the Automotive industry, particularly with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, across functions such as supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, or quality management. 
  • Deep understanding of automotive-specific business processes and challenges. 
ERP & Technical Skills: 
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience with ERP systems (e.g., Infor CloudSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar enterprise applications). 
  • Strong technical understanding of cloud concepts, software platforms, and technical architecture. 
  • Hands-on experience configuring demo instances for enterprise-level software applications. 
Presales & Leadership Experience: 
  •  Proven track record in presales / solution consulting roles, supporting complex sales cycles for enterprise software. 
  • Experience leading teams or mentoring colleagues, with the ability to drive sales strategies and foster collaboration across departments. 
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to conduct value assessments and articulate business value to diverse stakeholders. 
Communication & Interpersonal Skills: 
  • Fluent in Japanese; proficiency in English is preferred for global collaboration. 
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to connect with and influence stakeholders at all levels (end-users to C-level). 


Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Experience with Infor CloudSuite (LN) is an advantage. 
  •  Ability to manage multiple customer engagements and internal priorities without task-level supervision. 
  •  Eagerness to learn new software solutions and understand interoperability between applications. 
  •  Tertiary qualification in a business, technology, or related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of EDI transactions in the Japanese automotive industry
  • Business-level English proficiency
