
Underbody Process Engineering Group Lead
Job Description
The UPE Engineering Group Lead is responsible for leading Manufacturing Engineering functions for powertrain/propulsion programs. Their primary role is to guide their Engineering team to develop and launch processes that meet all objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost for both new model (NM), non-new model (NNM), and adaptation programs.
Main responsibilities include:
- Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies
- Oversee engineering scope definition, Requests for Quotes (RFQ’s), sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and installation of manufacturing equipment
- Manage and prioritize the Non-New Model (NNM) powertrain programs requests and ensure that approved programs are completed on time and within budget
- Manage all New Model (NM) program’s facilities aspects including site preparation and machine installation
- Lead activities on programs ensuring successful implementation and tracking of the Iron Triangle (Scope, Timing, and Cost)
- Lead their team in the implementation of Stellantis Production Way (SPW) methodology, supporting all activities including deployment of advanced SPW tools and guide systematic root cause problem solving methods to attack risks
- Development/improvement of process and equipment standards related to manufacturing engineering
- Support the Propulsion Manufacturing Plants located in Kokomo Indiana while maintaining a relationship with the North American and Global CoC initiatives
- Drive standardization across plants in all regions
- Lead procurement, design, build, install, qualification and launch of facilities and process supporting equipment and infrastructure
- Support Stellantis Production Way initiatives
