Job Description
Newmont Suriname was established in 2004 as an entity of Newmont Mining Corporation and is headquartered in Paramaribo, Suriname. Located in South America, Suriname was originally settled as a Dutch colony, is very culturally diverse and enjoys a tropical climate. The Merian Project is located approximately 60 km south of Moengo in a largely undeveloped part of the country with the nearest permanent settlement, Langa Tabiki, approximately 17 km east from the Project site. Strong support from host communities and the government of Suriname strengthen Merian's ability to deliver safe, profitable production with significant upside potential and opportunity for employees, host communities and shareholders.

Purpose
To administer productive and fair employee and labor relations, to enhance employee experience and productivity.
Essential Duties
- Administer Employee and Labor Relations.
- Execute, handle & monitor labor relations in compliance with bargaining agreements
- Develop a collaborative relationship with union representatives advocating to maintain management rights in a positive and conflict free environment.
- Advice frontline leaders in conflict resolution with their employees. Mediate when necessary.
- Conduct objectives fact base investigations when required.
- Maintain an environment that aligns with Newmont's code of conduct.
- Adhere to Newmont's policies, procedures and code of conduct act as the custodian at site of the employee and labor relations principles anchored in fair treatment
- Support union relations and collective negotiations as needed.
Training & Experience
Knowledge:
- Technical or bachelor's degree in industrial relations, human resources management or similar
- Understanding of local labor laws High ethical standards and judgment to manage sensitive information
Technical skills:
- Fundamentals negotiating and bargaining skills Fundamental written and verbal communication skills
- Fundamental analytical skills
