The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining the facility by conducting general facility maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting equipment, and property structures.
This position is 1st shift (days) and supports our Aerospace, Defense and Prototype sites in Sterling Heights.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain the organization’s equipment, such as: presses, machines, hi-los, etc.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Maintain equipment in both scheduled and emergent situations. Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements.
- Document maintenance activities and communicate issues to supervisors and production teams.
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and company policies.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Supports all operations, goals and administration of organization, presenting them in a strong, positive image to both internal and external customers.
- All other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Excellent mechanical, electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree in mechanical, electrical or engineering specialties (preferred)
- Excellent manual dexterity and problem solving skills
- Ability to walk, stand, and lift heavy objects for an extended periods of time
- Ability to serve, prioritize, and multi-task to support multiple areas
- Excellent communication skills with both internal and external personnel
