A Day in the Life
As an Electrician at Bunge’s Vancouver Terminal, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and performance of electrical systems that support critical operations. You will respond to plant trouble calls, perform repairs, and ensure equipment is returned to service safely and efficiently.
Working in a dynamic, 24/7 environment, you will troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems, instrumentation, and PLC controls while supporting safe and continuous terminal operations. You’ll collaborate closely with supervisors and team members to ensure equipment performance meets operational needs.
Position Details
This is a safety‑sensitive role requiring strong technical expertise and adherence to established safety standards.
This position is a full‑time role requiring the ability to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 environment, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
The starting hourly rate is $54.12, plus a $3.00 per hour trade retention premium, along with eligibility for overtime based on operational requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing
Provide shift response to plant trouble calls, completing repairs and returning equipment to Operations in a timely manner
Perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, PLCs, instrumentation, and related equipment
Install and repair distribution panels, motor control centers, protective devices, and related equipment in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code
Support and participate in Bunge’s Safety Program
Perform basic PLC programming and troubleshooting (function block)
Work with Modbus communications protocols and demonstrate familiarity with Ethernet systems and hardware
Complete administrative documentation accurately and in a timely manner
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to support terminal operations
Perform other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial setting
Journeyman Electrician certification with Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Strong problem‑solving skills and a demonstrated commitment to quality work
Ability to work all shifts in a 24/7 operation
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with PLC systems and programming
Familiarity with Modicon Unity programming software
Experience in industrial or terminal operations environments
Knowledge of communication protocols and networking systems
