Project Officer

  • 2x Ongoing Full-Time
  • in Parramatta with flexible hybrid work arrangements
  • Salary Clerk Grade 7/8 from $113,574 to 125,720 base + superannuation

 

About the role

 

The Project Officer supports the planning, coordination and delivery of projects that improve the inclusion, wellbeing and educational experience of students across NSW public schools.

 

Working as part of a collaborative strategic policy team, you will contribute to project activities, research and analysis, stakeholder engagement, reporting and the preparation of high-quality written materials. You will work closely with the Senior Project Officer and other team members to help keep project work on track, identify issues and risks, and support practical outcomes for schools and students.

About you

We are looking for someone who is organised, curious and collaborative, and who enjoys working as part of a team to improve outcomes for students across the state.

  • some experience in policy, project support or a strategic policy environment
  • the ability to support project activities, including tracking actions, preparing documentation and contributing to reporting
  • experience researching, analysing and summarising information to support decision-making
  • strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build effective working relationships
  • attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

 

Essential requirements of the role

  • Current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance for paid employment or willingness to obtain
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
