We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with diverse learning needs in school-based settings across Maryland.
Position Overview:
As a Special Education Teacher with Strides Therapy & Educational Services, you will collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, school administrators, and families to support students with disabilities in achieving their academic, behavioral, social, and functional goals.
The ideal candidate is student-focused, collaborative, organized, and passionate about helping students reach their full potential within inclusive educational environments.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs and Maryland educational standards
- Provide specialized instruction in individual, small group, and classroom settings
- Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching strategies to support diverse learners
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of services, goals, and accommodations
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, therapists, and school staff to support student success
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Support positive behavior strategies and classroom management techniques
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements
- Stay current with evidence-based practices and professional development in special education
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid Maryland Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with students with diverse learning and behavioral needs preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team
- Commitment to professional growth and student-centered educational practices
