Summary

To be ultimately accountable for profitable revenue growth of the Ontario Environmental markets. As part of our growth strategy, lead the Environmental LOB’s expansion into new, emerging and high growth-potential markets with a focus on driving revenue, market share capture and margin. This role is responsible to identify profile, prioritize, and implement new product and service plans that align with corporate strategies for growth in the Environmental LOB, while leading and managing a business development team to support Ontario.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Sales Leadership

  • Translate strategy into annual sales plans aligned to KPIs; lead team of 6-8 with coaching and situational leadership.
  • Develop regional sales strategies and execute national/regional campaigns to build pipeline and outperform targets.
  • Partner with internal leaders to grow sales lead flow; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
  • Manage complex sales cycles by orchestrating pre-sales, value management, bid management, and cross-functional teams.
  • Build and maintain key relationships within assigned geography to drive partnerships and increase sales.
  • Recruit, hire, and train sales associates; provide coaching throughout the sales cycle.
  • Lead RFQ strategy and responses with required follow-up.
  • Manage revenue budgets, monthly forecasting, and expense management for the practice.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, speaking events, and industry workshops as assigned.

 

Emerging Markets

  • Profile and prioritize new opportunities by analyzing existing/adjacent markets, competitive landscapes, and trends.
  • Build targeted business plans and lead implementation to achieve annual revenue and gross margin targets.
  • Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities, competitive positioning, and strategic alliances.
  • Evaluate company products/services and recommend enhancements to strengthen market offerings.
  • Develop go-to-market models and multi-year growth plans; prepare and lead implementation.
  • Collaborate with operations, sales, and marketing teams to create positioning and drive execution.
  • Design marketing communication strategies leveraging existing channels.
  • Mentor regional business development teams on plan execution.
  • Represent Bureau Veritas at industry conferences and stakeholder groups to build corporate profile and networks.

 

Administrative Duties

  • Participate in establishing department revenue, expense budgets, and goals.
  • Liaise with clients and customer service on agreements (NDAs, SOWs, MSAs).
  • Maintain training records and relevant qualifications; adhere to Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics.
  • Support compliance with all BV policies, Quality System, and Health & Safety programs.

  • Proven experience in developing and executing on accounts
  • Collaborative leader with strong influence skills across matrixed organizations.
  • Enjoy being outbound, networking with clients and working independently.
  • An energetic personality that can work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ethical, dynamic, motivated, “can-do” attitude, flexible, good judgement and results oriented.
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). French is a definite asset, but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and demonstrate a safe driving record.

Required Education and Experience

  • University degree in Environmental engineering, environmental science or biology.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience working with commercial environmental laboratories
