Job Description
Summary
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into high-quality, scalable web and cloud-based web solutions. You will contribute to the technical direction, quality, and delivery of real‑world products while supporting teams through modern engineering and agile practices.Job description
What you’ll be doing
People Leadership and Engineering Management: You will lead and support engineering managers, drive hiring, onboarding, and long‑term talent development, and coach managers and senior engineers to grow leadership capability across the organization. You will also run performance cycles and actively support career growth through clear expectations, regular feedback, and development planning.
Delivery Ownership: You will own delivery outcomes by ensuring plans and business commitments are met, while balancing speed, quality, and risk in a continuously changing environment. You will remove cross‑team blockers, enable collaboration on shared architecture and features, and establish predictable agile release cycles through active participation in planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
Strategy, Vision, and Long‑Term Planning: You will define and drive the long‑term vision for technical platforms, identifying opportunities for modernization, consolidation, and new platform investments. You will stay close to emerging technologies and engineering practices, translating what matters into pragmatic improvements that raise the bar for reliability, scalability, and developer productivity.
Stakeholder and Cross‑Organizational Collaboration: You will act as the primary technology partner for non‑technical teams such as Product Management, Marketing, Security, Legal, Compliance, IT governance, and Infrastructure, aligning priorities with business leaders and translating business needs into scalable technical solutions. You will communicate complex topics clearly to non‑technical audiences, represent engineering in leadership forums, and negotiate scope, timelines, and capacity while providing regular, transparent progress updates.
Governance, Security, and Compliance: You will oversee security practices such as DevSecOps and Secure Development Lifecycle across web and cloud systems, ensuring adherence to internal policies, legal requirements, and GDPR. You will partner with relevant teams to support audits and contribute to incident management to keep our systems safe, resilient, and compliant.
Budget, Capacity, and Vendor Management: You will collaborate on workforce and capacity planning, help justify and manage budgets for platforms and tools, and drive cost efficiency—including cloud cost management—so that investments align with outcomes and scale responsibly.
Culture, Quality, and Ways of Working: You will shape culture and ways of working by defining and enforcing quality standards for code, testing, and operations, and by promoting engineering best practices such as CI/CD, infrastructure as code, documentation, and appropriate control processes. You will build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement, and strengthen testing discipline through practices such as load testing and chaos engineering.
