Primary Work Site: Marine Memorial Chapel – Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA
Key Responsibilities
Lead congregational singing at:
Sunday 0900 and 1215 Masses
Holy Days of Obligation
Special liturgies and seasonal services
Sing:
Entrance, Offertory, and Communion antiphons
Responsorial Psalm
Mass Ordinary
Sequences
Passion narratives (Palm Sunday & Good Friday)
Sing liturgical texts in Latin in accordance with Roman Rite norms.
Rehearse with Organist outside of Mass time.
Support funerals and memorial services as required.
Maintain flexibility in performing both traditional and contemporary liturgical music.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated experience as a Catholic cantor in a parish or military chapel.
Strong vocal ability and confidence leading congregational singing.
Ability to chant and sing in Latin.
Knowledge of Roman Catholic liturgy and Church calendar.
Ability to rehearse and collaborate effectively with organist and clergy.
Professional demeanor suitable for military chapel environment.
