Responsibilities
1. Business Analysis & Requirements Translation
- Gather requirements from manufacturing stakeholders (operations, process engineering, quality, supply chain)
- Translate business/user requirements into functional specifications and technical designs
- Develop and maintain:
- Business Requirement Documents (BRD)
- Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS)
- User stories, use cases, and process flows
- Perform AS-IS / TO-BE gap analysis and solution definition
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and drive alignment across business and IT
- Define acceptance criteria and lead/support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
2. MES Functional Design
- Translate requirements into MES functional configurations:
- Workflows, routing, and WIP tracking
- Genealogy and full traceability models
- Data collection plans and validation rules
- Define functional logic and system behavior prior to implementation
- Ensure scalability and maintainability of MES solutions
3. MES Implementation & Configuration
- Deploy and configure MES platforms
- Customize workflows, data collection, and production execution logic
- Lead/support:
- Functional Testing, Integration Testing
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Deployment and change management
- Ensure full traceability from requirements → implementation → validation
4. System Integration & Architecture
- Design and map end-to-end business processes across systems:
- MES ↔ ERP, PLM, SPC, SCADA, equipment/automation systems
- Define data models, data flows, and interface specifications
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and integration standards
- Support MES API utilization for automation and external system integration
5. Process & Manufacturing Optimization
- Analyze manufacturing workflows to improve:
- Quality, yield, throughput, and traceability
- Challenge existing processes and drive continuous improvement
- Implement Industry 4.0 / Digital Manufacturing strategies
- Collaborate cross-functionally to standardize MES best practices
6. Data & Analytics
- Develop and support:
- Production dashboards and reports
- KPIs (OEE, cycle time, downtime, yield)
- Enable data-driven decision-making on the shop floor
- Support users in extracting and analyzing data from SQL-based systems
7. Support, Operations & Troubleshooting
- Provide L2/L3 MES support in high-availability production environments
- Diagnose and resolve system and transaction issues
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Provide helpdesk support for production issues and MES-related incidents
- Deliver user training and ongoing system support
8. MES Administration & Master Data Management
- Manage MES master data: Products, materials, equipment, locations
- Administer user access, roles, and security policies
- Ensure data integrity and governance within MES
- Maintain system configurations and operational stability
9. Automation, Scripting & Technical Support
- Develop scripts, SQL queries, and lightweight programs for
- Data extraction and reporting
- Data integration between systems
- Support equipment/automation teams in MES integration (API usage, data exchange)
- Work with engineering teams on: Setup Parameter Data Collection and interface data collection to SPC and define the control limit & actions.
10. Compliance & Traceability
- Ensure MES solutions meet regulatory and industry standards:
- ISO, semiconductor traceability, audit requirements
- Maintain end-to-end product genealogy and audit readiness
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Typically 6–10+ years of experience in MES implementation and support within manufacturing environments
- Proven experience supporting high-volume, high-availability production operations
- Experience across industries such as semiconductor, battery, automotive, or electronics manufacturing
- Strong Subject Matter Expert (SME) across MES and manufacturing processes and system integration
- Key bridge between business, operations, and technical teams
- Drive standardization, scalability, and long-term MES strategy
- Strong business analysis skills and ability to translate requirements into functional and technical solutions
- Proven strong problem-solving skills & critical thinking.
- Proven experience in MES configuration, troubleshooting, and production support
- Fluent in SQL; experience with C#, Python, and REST API integrations
- Excellent Communication and across-functional collaboration skills.
