Summary:

Production Operator is responsible for work that includes monitoring, analyzing, and reporting of production results and material to company staff members. Ensuring high yield and productivity for the cell production by implementing and improving manufacturing methods and processes. This position will also need to interact with other team members, customers and vendors to solve complex and/or urgent problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives or by providing needed information and advice upon request.

 Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Monitor and continuously improve the speed of the unit manufacturing processes in production
  • Monitor the progress of production by evaluating the departments KPI reports
  • Report production activities/results/indications on a daily basis
  • Analyze, report production issues on a daily basis (e.g., safety accidents, quality issues, abnormal drop in yield and operation ratio)
  • Monitor operating conditions in every stage of production
  • Monitor and check whether semi-products comply with quality requirements including process and appearance specifications
  • Monitor and audit the cell manufacturing process to ensure compliance of process regulations regarding treatments of malfunctions
  • Take follow-up measures to deal with the production issues/improvements
  • Establish and manage production standards (e.g., work instructions, BOM, production/quality check sheets, machine/tool/accessory maintenance standards)
  • Take follow-up measures to deal with the quality issues
  • Respond to customer audits and take appropriate measures to meet customer's product specifications and standards
  • Respond to ISO/IATF certification process and customer gate evaluation
  • Monitor quality fluctuation (especially after changing tools) and prevent/alarm quality issues
  • Manage the production assets (equipment) and budgets for the investments and operations regarding the cell production process
  • Monitor and continuously improve the loss of the processes in production
  • Manage and improve production environment in light of the 3R (Right materials, Right Quantity, Right position) and 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)
  • Support countermeasure plan and take follow-up measures regard preventing safety accidents in the production line
  • Ensure fellow operators are trained regularly and appropriately regarding potential safety risks and prevention measures
  • Manage the consumption and inventory of the raw material for the cell process
  • Manage and maintain accessory equipment including pallets, plates, and pallet jacks/tools/molds
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Willing to perform job rotation for better cross-training
  • Ability to follow instructions from your supervisor, Assistant manager and any other members of management.   

 Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, or other related field of study
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office
  • Preferred to be able to read and write in English
  • Familiar with using HMI (computer screen/controls) at certain work stations

 Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms to include stoop, kneel, bend or crawl.
  • Must be able to stand at work for 8-12 hours per day and up to 6-7 days per week based on operational needs.

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Formation: Must wear company-provided uniforms, safety shoes, safety glasses, hats.
  • Electrode & Assembly: Must wear company-provided uniform and PPE including safety shoes, helmet, safety glasses, clinical masks, respirators (must pass fit test & medical questionnaire), and portable gas measuring device.
  • Ability to climb steps repeatably throughout the shift 
  • Work in short periods of time in extreme heat.   
  • Must be able to wear gloves for the entire shift.   

Work Environment:

  • Usual office environment, production, and construction sites
  • Risks include noise (above 90 dB in compressor room), high temperatures (104–122°F in various rooms), and potential exposure to hazardous materials (e.g., heating medium oil, NMP, water treatment chemicals)
  • No cell phone/ear bud allowed on production floor. 
  • No malingering policy on the production floor.   
  • May be required to wear a paper mask.
