Job Description
Purpose of this Position:
The Commodity Specialist from SSD (Strategic Sourcing Department) will be dedicated to PCB and EE component, based at MOXA’s Taipei/Taiyuan site in Taiwan, is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive global sourcing strategy for PCB and electrical engineering (EE) commodities, including PCB(Printed circuit board), integrated circuits (ICs), MOSFETs, diodes, rectifiers, transistors, optoelectronic and RF components.
This role requires close collaboration with Research & Development (R&D), CE/SQE (Quality), and Supply Chain/ Manufacturing, ESG teams to ensure optimal supply assurance, competitive pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance across all MOXA manufacturing sites.
Key responsibilities include drafting, negotiating, and managing supplier contracts to secure best-in-class terms and conditions. The position also involves consolidating short-, medium-, and long-term demand forecasts across multiple sites, identifying potential supply gaps, and working with suppliers to plan capacity that supports MOXA’s growth objectives.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Uphold Ethical Standards: Maintain the highest levels of ethics, integrity, and professionalism in all procurement and sourcing activities. Ensure strict compliance with corporate policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements while fostering transparency and accountability throughout the supply chain.
- Drive Cost Optimization: Lead initiatives to improve Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) across the EE Source Supply Base. Provide clear, data-driven reporting on cost-saving measures, supplier performance, and long-term financial impact. Continuously identify opportunities for efficiency and value creation.
- Supplier Collaboration: Build and sustain strong partnerships with global and regional suppliers to secure best-in-class service, quality, performance, sustainable procurement for MOXA. Actively engage in supplier development programs to enhance capabilities and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Early Engagement in Concept phase & NPI: Facilitate supplier involvement and manage supplier selection assessment from Concept to New Product Introduction (NPI) processes to meet cost targets and accelerate time-to-market. Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of new components. Lead New Supplier Evaluation to Assessment.
- Operational Support: Serve as a key point of escalation for supply-related issues impacting manufacturing operations. Implement proactive measures to resolve disruptions quickly, ensuring timely production schedules and uninterrupted delivery of finished goods to customers.
- Demand and Capacity Planning: Consolidate demand forecasts from multiple sources and analyze short- and long-term supply gaps. Collaborate with suppliers to plan capacity effectively, particularly for rapidly growing market segments, proactively mitigating risks associated with demand volatility.
- Contract Management: Lead complex contract negotiations with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions. Oversee compliance with contractual obligations through initial agreements, amendments, and re-negotiations to safeguard MOXA’s interests.
- R&D Integration: Translate technical input from Research & Development into actionable sourcing requirements for current and future projects. Ensure procurement strategies support innovation, product quality, and time-to-market objectives.
- Preferred Supplier Development: Establish and maintain a comprehensive Preferred Supplier List tailored to MOXA’s product portfolio. Continuously evaluate supplier performance and adjust the list to reflect strategic priorities and evolving business needs.
- Technology Alignment: Align supplier technology roadmaps with MOXA’s long-term product development strategies. Promote collaborative innovation initiatives that enhance competitiveness and support emerging market trends.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Language Proficiency: Strong command of English in written, verbal, and presentation formats, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively. Must be capable of preparing professional documentation, delivering persuasive presentations, and engaging in high-level discussions with global stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent professional experience. A master’s degree or MBA is highly preferred, demonstrating advanced knowledge in strategic sourcing, leadership, and business analytics.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in materials management and manufacturing operations, including direct involvement in procurement, supplier negotiations, and cost optimization. This must include at least 3 years of specialized experience in PCB sourcing and commodity management. Additionally, candidates must have several years of supervisory or managerial responsibilities, showcasing the ability to lead teams, managing cross-functional projects, and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
