Position SummaryReporting to the Operations manager or designate, the Building Maintenance Worker performs janitorial, maintenance and repair duties for the Program facility. Performs basic maintenance and repair work, and cleans, washes, and disinfects building areas. Assists the Custodian/Housekeeper as needed, performs laundry duties, and takes direction from the program management.   Job Competition # job2026.139Closing Date: Midnight, May 28, 2026Job: Building Maintenance Worker Program: Biltmore Position Type: Temporary until December 9, 2026, or return of incumbent, Full-Time, 1.0 FTEHours: 75 hours bi-weekly Hourly Range: $26.72 – $28.48 (BCGEU, Grid 7)    Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8:00AM – 4:00PM. At present includes a 30-minute unpaid meal break.Start Date: As soon as possible. End Date: until December 9, 2026, or return of incumbent   A clear British Columbia Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check for working with vulnerable adults and/or children is a condition of employment with RainCity Housing. Applicants must be willing and able to receive a clearance under the Criminal Record Review Act.       Program Summary The Biltmore Housing Program provides 95 units of housing to people who are coping with the realities of homelessness, substance use, and complex physical and mental health concerns. The units are situated on the 3rd-7th floors of the building. All units include bathrooms. One meal will be provided daily, provider to be determined. There are common areas situated on the 7th floor, with some amenities. The building is located at Kingsway and 12th Ave in Vancouver. The program is staffed 24/7 by support workers. The main staffing area is situated in the lobby entrance; at least one support staff must be present at the entryway at all times.        QUALIFICATIONSOur mission is to advance social equity by building upon the strengths of our community and of each individual. Minimum education and experience include: Grade 12 Certificate in First Aid Building Service Worker Certificate Recent, related experience of 3 years Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Class 5 Drivers License   Key Skills and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Ability to operate related equipment. Ability to organize work. Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with tenants. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Ability to collaborate with staff team and external services.
