
Delivery Supervisor
Job Description
PURPOSE Coordinates activities of shipping personnel engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following: Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to insure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
Schedules deliveries with customers
Studies inventory to identify products to ship
Scans transfer tickets
Processes incoming and outgoing delivery driver paperwork
Manages multiple drivers and pullers
Ensures a safe and clean work place
Other duties may be assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities: The employee is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the shipping unit
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Education/Experience - High School diploma or equivalent G.E.D; Previous experience in shipping department required
Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors, and other employees of the organization
Mathematical Skills - Requires basic math skills
Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Computer Skills - None Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - None required for this position
