The Hong Kong Jockey Club

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

The Division

The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.

The Job

  • Implement the Trust-initiated project CoolThink@JC and other education projects. Through proper governance, execution of project plans, collaboration with project partners to achieve project goals and deliverables, and provide regular reporting of project progress to the Club's management team.
  • Assist the development of project plan including the tasks, deliverables, schedules and resources required, and maintain a repository of documentations for project governance and audit purposes, including but not limited to funding proposals, agreements, progress reports, meeting minutes, and project publications etc.
  • Assist in monitoring projects’ progress to ensure all activities are within scope and budget, delivered on time, in an effective and efficient manner. To provide administrative support for meeting daily operational, functional, and reporting requirements, including but not limited to preparing progress and financial reports and providing secretariat support for Advisory or Project Management Committee and the sub-committees/working groups of the project.
  • Assist in planning and monitoring matters related to finance (budget monitoring and reporting), procurement and vendor management functions (e.g., handling procurement and coordinating contracts and milestone payments to related vendors).
  • Assist the project team in designing stakeholder engagement strategy (including liaison with industry partners, government, community leaders, general public, etc), and organise publicity campaigns and events.
  • Carry out other duties as directed by management.

About You

  • A Bachelor’s degree with minimum 6 years working experience in project management, research & advocacy, event management and consultancy
  • Experience in dealing/working with government, NGOs, education sector and professional bodies would be an added advantage
  • Excellent communication skills (in both English and Chinese), and good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Project management, issue/data analysis, desktop research and presentations
  • Soft skills including critical thinking, problem-solving and team collaboration
  • Impact evaluation and research skills and vendor management experience would be an added advantage
  • Candidates with less experience may be considered for Assistant Manager
