Job Description

About the Role:

  • Own the design, configuration, and governance of TR’s marketing consent controls across all digital properties — including preference centers, dynamic web forms, consent banners, and opt-in/opt-out mechanisms for marketing communications.

  • Define and enforce standards for privacy link placement and behavior across TR’s marketing domains, including Do Not Sell/Share links, privacy notices, cookie policy links, and unsubscribe mechanisms.

  • Translate jurisdictional consent requirements (opt-in, opt-out, hybrid) into accurate CMP configurations — geolocation rules, consent categories, banner templates, and script generation for test and production environments.

  • Partner with Marketing, Product and Legal to ensure that any campaign, workflow, or marketing feature that relies on targeting individuals for marketing purposes meets applicable global consent requirements.

  • Own the consent signal chain from collection through to marketing activation — validating that preference and opt-out signals are correctly passed to downstream platforms including CRM, marketing automation, and data platforms. Work closely with the Enterprise Identity function to ensure identity anchors consent signals correctly, including how authenticated user identity is resolved and associated with consent records across channels.

  • Drive the operationalization of TR’s preference center strategy, defining what signals are captured, how they are structured, and how they connect to marketing execution systems.

  • Own TR's domain compliance inventory — the authoritative, multi-team record of the organization's digital estate and its consent, accessibility, and web governance obligations across thousands of properties. Take technical ownership of the automated Python-based domain scanning pipeline: drive it from its current manual cadence to a reliable scheduled production run, maintain detection logic as new consent tools and tracker patterns emerge, coordinate with data engineering on the execution environment and storage pipeline, and govern the shared compliance tracking layer used by Privacy, Accessibility, and Web Operations teams.

  • Lead cookie and tracker categorization and remediation workflows across all TR properties, maintaining the accuracy of the consent inventory as technologies are added or changed, and ensuring new domains are scanned, categorized, and onboarded with correct consent configurations before activation.

  • Support go-live validation for new domains and marketing campaigns requiring consent controls, ensuring mechanisms are correctly implemented before activation.

  • Apply AI tools to automate scanning, categorization, signal validation, and reporting workflows, proactively identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort across the consent program.

  • Contribute to the program’s strategic initiative to establish the CMP as the enterprise system of record for consent and privacy operations, applying marketing consent domain expertise to inform architecture decisions, data models, and integration requirements for the authenticated product scope.

About You:

  • 5-7 years of experience in privacy engineering, consent management, or digital compliance.

  • OneTrust, Consent Management, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, Cookie Compliance, Tag Management, Privacy Engineering, JavaScript, Python, Data Privacy

  • Google Consent Mode, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Experience Cloud, Eloqua, Google Tag Manager, Adobe Launch, CASL, Preference Center Management, AI/LLM Tooling, WCAG/Accessibility, SQL, REST APIs, B2B SaaS

  • Hands-on experience with Consent Management Platforms (e.g. OneTrust or similar), including preference centers, geolocation rules, and consent category configuration.

  • Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, CASL, and other global frameworks governing marketing communications and direct targeting.

  • Understanding of the full consent control ecosystem beyond cookies: preference centers, subscription and unsubscribe management, Do Not Sell/Share links, and DSR workflows.

  • Familiarity with how consent signals integrate with marketing technology stacks including CRM, marketing automation, and tag management platforms.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage compliance across a large portfolio of domains and digital properties.

  • Demonstrated use of AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, Claude Code, or Python-based LLM workflows) to automate compliance tasks such as scanning, categorization, reporting, or gap analysis.

Preferred:

  • Experience designing or operating preference centers or subscription management platforms.

  • Familiarity with marketing technology platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Eloqua, Adobe Experience Cloud, or similar) and how consent signals are consumed downstream.

  • Understanding of dynamic web form design as a data collection point — privacy-by-design principles, required disclosures, and consent capture at the form level.

  • Experience with tag management systems (Google Tag Manager, Adobe Launch) and consent-based script blocking.

  • Familiarity with Google Consent Mode (v2) — how it integrates with CMP consent signals, its implications for Google Ads and Analytics measurement, and how it is configured in OneTrust and tag management environments.

  • Familiarity with privacy link accessibility standards and WCAG requirements for consent interfaces.

  • Experience in a B2B enterprise software environment with a complex portfolio of digital properties.

This role determines when and how Thomson Reuters can lawfully engage with marketing audiences at scale. If you are technically rigorous, privacy-minded, and energized by building consent programs that are both compliant and commercially enabling, we encourage you to apply.
