Description
The Harvest Group Retail Media team is seeking a proven leader with expertise thinking like a client and executive (ex. CEO or CMO). It is essential that this leader brings an omnichannel perspective with the ability to develop and communicate effective and efficient retail media strategies and plans to all stakeholders. As a values-based integrated commerce agency in the hyper-growth stage, it’s important that this leader has passion, presence, and energy to embrace the journey we are on while helping pave the way with our team and company.
 
The Director, Retail Media is a key leader responsible for helping clients define and execute their digital marketing and advertising strategies through holistic, full-funnel tactics across search, display, social, OLV, CTV, etc. This role oversees the activation team responsible for bringing those strategies & plans to life for clients. The ideal candidate should be experienced in omnichannel media mix modeling, attribution, and measurement to effectively address ecommerce opportunities and threats, while bringing forth new opportunities for growth to clients. The Director works with client stakeholders & agency strategy teams to develop strategic plans & drive business results across all eCommerce and omni-channel Retail Media platforms including Amazon (Search and Display), Instacart, Shipt, Kroger, Walmart, Target, and retail networks such as Criteo, CitrusAd, and Quotient.  The Director is responsible for driving team strategy, efficiency, and scale through training, connectivity, and technology, while also driving results through continued client thought leadership and growth within the eCommerce/omnichannel landscape. 
 
For this role we prefer that candidates are based out of the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CT,  FL, GA, IA, IL, ID, IN, KS, KY, MD, MN, MO, MS, NV, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, or WI.
 
Responsibilities
  • Develop, lead, and manage a growing Retail Media team in the planning and activation of campaigns across retail commerce spaces, along with delivering sound strategic media recommendations based on a clear understanding of client goals and objectives.
  • Act as an advisor to clients in the goals and planning process to develop digital media strategies and deployments, with a lens across in-store, ecommerce, and retail media activations.
  • Guide clients on strategy and optimization based on campaign results across Amazon (search and display), Walmart Connect (search and display), Kroger Precision Marketing, Target Roundel, Instacart, TradeDesk, and retail media networks such as Criteo, CitrusAd, & PromoteIQ
  • Lead client success and support team members to address project work, discuss business trends and performance, and plan future engagements.
  • Provide and executive presence with clients and support building and executing annual media plans that drive a full funnel marketing approach with awareness, consideration, and conversion audiences and tactics.
  • Collaborate with Client Service, R&D, and Technology teams to deepen process and connection across retailers, accelerate client growth, and expand current Harvest capabilities.
  • Responsible for ongoing thought leadership and opportunities that will drive client business results.
  • Collaborate with leaders to maintain and further develop relationships with key retailers and other agencies to provide our clients access to initiatives, strategies, test and learn opportunities, and other key partnerships that support our clients in delivering their goals.
  • Responsible for contributing and leading larger Business reviews (QBRs, Annual Planning, etc.)
  • Actively lead and contribute to account strategy, including annual budget development, KPIs, partner selection, new tactics, and tracking industry developments and recommending new
  • Responsible for new business pitches and cross-selling/client development opportunities
 
Requirements
  • At least 10-12 years of retail media management and/or eCommerce sales management working on key retailer accounts (ex. Amazon, Walmart, Target, Kroger, etc.)
  • Must have a strong understanding at least three of the five listed Retail Media platforms – Amazon, Walmart Connect, Target-Roundel, Kroger Precision Marketing, Instacart
  • Strong command of commerce platforms, syndicated research tools, and reporting resources such as Amazon, Walmart Connect, Target-Roundel, Kroger Precision Marketing, Instacart, and retail media networks including Criteo and CitrusAd
  • 5+ years of people management experience of a multi-layered team (plus if successful experience managing remote employees)
  • Strong understanding of Demand Side Platform (DSP) activation and optimization techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of the retail media landscape is critical
  • Ability to connect Full-Funnel Marketing activations (search AND display) to retailer specific sales goals and performance
  • Knowledge of activation & optimization techniques across Retailer Media & eCommerce platforms is a must
  • Demonstrated extreme ownership, critical thinking, & problem solving abilities
  • Guiding clients and client teams through clear and concise communication, both written and verbal.  Proven track record of selling ideas clearly & delivering value.
  • Ability to work successfully with teams on multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Desire to work in an industry which is constantly evolving & presenting new & unique challenges
  • Able to package, merchandise, and sell in concepts and new opportunities
  • Strategic thinking, adaptability, and insightful analysis to identify areas of opportunity, delivering optimized results
  • Willingness to travel
 
Preferred
  • Experience building and managing advertising strategies across multiple retailers.
  • Agency or multi-client environment experience.

We carefully consider a wide-ranging list of factors to determine compensation, including but not limited to level of job-related experience, knowledge, skills, location, etc. Base pay is just one component of the total compensation and benefits package.
 
The national hiring range for this position is $160,000-$180,000/annually. Additionally, this position is eligible to participate in our bonus program.
