Job Description:
The position involves skilled administrative work supporting compliance with and enforcement of the Unified Government Occupation Tax ordinance and various other ordinances as they apply to businesses. Thorough knowledge of tax and licensing ordinances and the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS), and the ability to apply this knowledge in any given business situation are requirements that will be learned through extensive personal effort and on the job training. Duties include but are not limited to: providing excellent front line customer service in courteous and user-friendly manner; performing specialized administrative support activities; responding knowledgeably to customer requests for information pertaining to taxes and licenses; assisting applicants in completion of forms; billing customers and collecting occupation tax and license fees; processing and issuing tax receipts and licenses using automated processes; accepting payments and making change; accounting for daily receipts; maintaining computer and written records and files; writing letters and reports using Microsoft applications; researching ordinances; preparing fliers and brochures; notarizing business related documents; as well as cross training within other NRC divisions/programs to better assist our customers.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED and three years of experience in the area of assignment; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties of the position.
Salary Range:
$18.55-$23.62/hr.
