Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated HVAC Tech 1 to join our team. In this high-impact role, you will support all facets of event operations for Multi-site Venues, while playing a key role in broader department initiatives.
Your Role on the Team
Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems across the facility, including air conditioning units, air handlers, ventilation systems, and heating equipment.
Support routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure systems are operating safely and efficiently.
Help diagnose basic HVAC issues and assist in troubleshooting equipment under the guidance of senior technicians.
Perform minor repairs such as replacing filters, motors, belts, and basic components.
Assist with testing HVAC systems to verify proper operation and performance.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent through the CMMS.
Support event coverage by monitoring HVAC performance and responding to comfort or system needs in real time.
Work collaboratively with engineering team members, including electricians and plumbers, to support overall facility operations.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when working with equipment and tools.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Assist with repairs and maintenance of arena equipment, outside of HVAC, such as seat repair, floor repair, and other minor repairs as needed, or assigned.
Your Skills and Experience
Basic understanding of HVAC systems and a strong willingness to learn and grow within the trade.
Ability to follow direction and work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to completing assigned tasks.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, including during live events.
Willingness to support a variety of tasks and adapt to operational needs.
Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
Experience/ Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an HVAC technician program or vocational training preferred.
EPA 608 certification preferred (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
0–2 years of HVAC or related maintenance experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, tools, and safety practices.
