Job Description
Data & Reporting Strategy provides access to a comprehensive financial database populated by AXA XL's Finance Architecture
Team members manage the Data Conformance Layer (called CL) which is home to the technical data of the Insurance Segment
This is where all data is interfaced from various source systems (theFrame, GENIUS, WINS, etc), which includes policy level details, and is then conformed into financial codes using accurate mappings for all Insurance data
Maintaining these mappings is crucial
The available data is based on requirements for external reporting, financial MI, GL and accounting practices
Tools connect the GL to source details, whilst adhering to the guiding principles for 'a single source of truth' and other governance standards
Representing Finance, DRS assists with complex reporting needs, data analytics, and the Finance Close
This is accomplished by Financial Data Analysis, complex reconciliations, Data Quality Control, managing change requests from across the organization, and enhancement or deployment of new systems
What you’ll be doing What will your essential responsibilities include
Source System Subject Matter Expert (SME) (theFrame, GENIUS, US Genius, WINS, Procede, Sapiens, GWR Billing, GWR Policy Center, GWR Claim Center)
Build a solid understanding of the financial data flow and source to ledger mappings (underwriting source system to the Financial Ledger) and be the 1st line of support for any issues
Develop expertise on multiple data sources, learn data structure, tables, fields etc., and extract required data using SQL queries / Data Bricks
Analyze and provide fixes to data mappings to ensure the correct derivation of conformed values for the Frame source system
Analyze and provide resolutions to monthly financial hard stops Take ownership of reviewing the balances and control reports, analyze variances and work with the relevant stakeholders to resolve irregularities including preparing of the rectification journals
Coordination within finance and IT teams during ITC and UAT test release cycles to ensure delivery of finance projects within defined timelines
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data integrity from source to target flow of financials, often using cubes to do so
Act urgently to attend any critical issues in the process / financial data and work with the relevant stakeholders to restore normality
Perform impact assessment to any changes in the process or data flow and work through implementation including source system changes, Annual Planning and or projects
Participate in change assessment meetings and work with the team & line manager to prepare an action plan and ensure timely implementation of identified defects/changes
Liaison with the Source System IT Team for Changes Impacting Conformance
SME Support for Changes to Conformance Architecture for both BAU and Project
Manage multiple stakeholders across global locations to address their queries and provide ad-hoc support to month / quarter close activities
Support all relevant financial and regulatory requirements at all times
Review the existing processes / activities and develop additional controls for smooth operations
Have an open mindset to learn and adopt changes quickly
Possess robust insurance and financial knowledge and data querying/analysis skills to support BAU and Project
Functional interpretation, maintenance of data, data accuracy, performing and reporting and data integrity checks
Root Cause analysis of data errors and resolution specific to critical internal and external data

What you’ll bring We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: Required Skills and Abilities: Require MBA/Postgraduate for financial data management role
Experience with various database types (e.g
SQL Server, Databricks, Excel, etc…)
Sound knowledge of Insurance
Accounting knowledge a plus
Robust proficiency in analyzing, querying and manipulating large data sets using SQL
Support Data flow and reconciliation for any external or internal Finance as well as System audit
Experience with communication and analytical tools, such as MS PowerPoint, MS Excel; experience with Power BI and / or Cube analytics
Mental flexibility to creatively extract actionable insights from massive, highly sophisticated, multi-dimensional datasets while ensuring data quality
High energy, good work ethic, willingness to do whatever it takes to get to the results
Comfort with ambiguity & ability to influence others and gain acceptance for your ideas
Excellent problem-solving skills and root cause analysis
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
