Baptist Health is hiring Medical Assistants to join our Float Pool, supporting both Primary Care and Specialty Clinics across the region. With over 200 patient access points, including 50+ primary care offices and a wide range of specialty practices—such as Cardiology, Neurology, Pulmonology, Endocrinology, Behavioral Health, Rheumatology, Urology, and more—Baptist Health offers a dynamic and supportive environment for your career growth.
In order to support all new Medical Assistant hires, Baptist Health is also excited to offer to our new Medical Assistant (MA) Education Cohort, a paid Medical Assistant training program designed to launch or advance your Medical Assistant career within our clinical network in Jacksonville, Florida. This full-time role blends hands‑on clinical Medical Assistant training, professional development, and direct onboarding into one of the best healthcare jobs in Jacksonville.
This structured cohort welcomes newly hired Medical Assistants and experienced MAs seeking skill enhancement. The 4‑week MA Education Cohort program provides an immersive experience tailored to individuals wanting to grow in a supportive, team-focused environment. Participants begin at the Baptist Center for Professional Excellence, where they receive essential system onboarding, professional development, and healthcare workflow introductions. After the 4-week program, team members will transition into their Full-time Float Pool or Primary Care MA role.
The Cohort will Focus Training on the Following:
- Organizational orientation
- Customer service and risk management
- Introduction to clinical workflow and MA expectations
- Vital signs
- Infection control
- 12‑lead EKG
- Medication administration
- Point‑of‑care testing (POCT)
- Additional competencies needed for success in primary care Medical Assistant roles
Role Expectations After Training
- Providing assistance to physicians
- Obtaining vital signs
- Greeting and chaperoning patients during clinical visits
- Maintaining accurate medical documentation
- Scheduling care, treatments, and diagnostic tests
- Processing prescription requests and referrals
Education & Credential Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
