Senior Project Officer

  • Temporary Full-Time opportunity until June 2029
  • Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available
  • Clerk Grade 9/10 - $129,464 to $142,665 plus superannuation and leave loading

 

About the role

 

  • Manage contracts and service agreements to ensure quality outcomes and on-time delivery across the NSW Work Placement Coordination Program.
  • Build strong partnerships with schools, service providers and key stakeholders to expand student access to high-quality work placements.
  • Prepare briefings, policy advice and governance papers to support program delivery and drive continuous improvement.

 

The Senior Project Officer supports the NSW Department of Education in managing the Work Placement Coordination Program and related initiatives. This statewide program facilitates mandatory work placements for more than 55,000 students each year across government and non-government schools. Delivery is supported by a network of 15 contracted Work Placement Service Providers who partner with schools and engage employers to provide meaningful workplace learning opportunities for students.

About you

  • Experience managing complex programs, contracts and service providers
  • Strong stakeholder skills across schools, industry and government
  • Ability to analyse data and prepare clear briefs and advice
  • Skilled in resolving issues and delivering practical solutions
  • Experience coordinating large-scale programs that connect students, schools and employers to deliver high-quality work placement opportunities
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

 

Essential requirements of the role

  • Working with Children Check for paid employment.
  • Valid NSW Driver Licence.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
