About the opportunity

Our Neonatal Unit provides specialised, family‑centred care to newborns requiring complex medical and developmental support. You will join a highly skilled, supportive multidisciplinary team committed to excellence in neonatal care, education and continuous improvement, within a service that values innovation, collaboration and staff wellbeing.

The Neonatal Clinical Nurse Consultant plays a pivotal leadership role within the unit, influencing best practice, mentoring staff and driving high‑quality outcomes for babies and their families.

  • Provide expert clinical leadership and consultancy to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based, family‑centred neonatal care across the service.
  • Assessment, coordination and evaluation of complex neonatal care, including clinical problem solving, quality improvement initiatives and support of advanced clinical practice.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide a responsive, flexible service, contributing to education, research, policy development and service improvement within the Neonatal Unit.

What you’ll bring

You’re resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are committed to delivering exceptional, patient‑ and family‑centred neonatal care while supporting and inspiring those around you.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive clinical experience in neonatal nursing with demonstrated advanced practice expertise.
  • Excellent clinical leadership, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to problem‑solve in complex clinical environments.
  • A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to neonatal care, family support and staff mentorship.
  • The ability to build and sustain respectful, collaborative relationships and contribute positively to a high‑performing multidisciplinary team.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
