Job Description
We are currently seeking an Assistant Garage Manager to support our Woodlands Operations in Southern New Brunswick. Based in Sussex, NB, the successful candidate will oversee a team of mechanics and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Drive a Health & Safety culture and ensure policies and procedures are followed, and accident investigations conducted
- Supervise Heavy Equipment Mechanics on repairs, ongoing improvements, and unplanned downtime
- Lead improvement of Maintenance Best Practices
- Develop a culture of Continuous Improvement
- Data collection and analysis, including financial analysis of potential and active work
- Training and development of apprentices
- Coach maintenance team on JDI values and work assignments
- Commitment to top performance in a safe work environment
- Prioritize work requests
- Assist with parts and inventory control and parts ordering
- Prepare and submit weekly reports
- Provide excellent customer service
- Education Required:
- Trade Certification, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree in a related technical field
- 2-3 or more years of supervisory experience
- Experience in heavy equipment would be considered a strong asset
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office and JD Edwards E1 are an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate team members
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract are essential
- Lean Six Sigma training is an asset
