🧩 Role Summary 

Title: Senior OutSystems Developer / OutSystems Expert (Workflow Platform) 
Team: Global Product & Service Team – Workflow Platform 
Focus: Build and evolve the core platform backend + scalable services enabling thousands of workflow applications on OutSystems, accelerated by AI. 

As a Senior OutSystems Developer, you will lead the development and maintenance of enterprise-grade web/mobile solutions and core platform services. You’ll work with Product, Architecture, DevOps, and Design to deliver high-quality releases with strong reliability, security, and performance. 

🎯 What You Will Own (Key Responsibilities) 

Platform & Full-Stack Engineering 

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using OutSystems, leveraging prior experience in .NET where needed. 

• Lead architecture and development for web + mobile, ensuring clean, efficient, maintainable solutions across the stack. 

• Build reusable components and shared services that strengthen platform capability and speed up delivery. 

Business Logic, Data & Performance 

• Implement complex business logic, custom UI components, and robust database layers. 

• Design and optimize data models across SQL and NoSQL (e.g., SQL Server/Oracle, MongoDB, Elasticsearch). 

• Drive performance tuning (queries, caching, pagination, asynchronous processing, monitoring). 

 Integrations & Enterprise Connectivity 

• Implement and maintain REST/SOAP APIs and third-party integrations. 

• Ensure resiliency through strong patterns: authentication, error handling, retries, and observability. 

Delivery Excellence (Agile + DevOps) 

• Actively contribute to Agile rituals: refinement, planning, sprint execution, and continuous improvement. 

• Support release pipelines via LifeTime, environment management, deployments, versioning, and basic CI/CD. 

Reliability, Security & Operational Readiness 

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently – protecting platform stability and user trust. 

• Apply security best practices: RBAC, SSO, secure integrations, OWASP, data protection, audit readiness. 

Team Growth & Mentoring 

• Guide junior developers, raise engineering standards, and build a strong culture of quality and ownership. 

• Promote best practices in coding, reviews, testing, and platform governance. 

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/IT (or equivalent practical experience). 

• 7+ years hands-on OutSystems development experience. 

• OutSystems certifications: Professional/Expert Web (Traditional/Reactive), Architecture certs. 

• Strong backend capabilities: data modeling, advanced SQL (MSSQL/Oracle), performance tuning. 

• Workflow/process experience: BPT, case/process management, async processing, timers/queues. 

• Front-end proficiency with UX/UI best practices; strong HTML/CSS/JS. 

• Integrations expertise: REST/SOAP, API design, authentication, error handling, resiliency. 

• Strong OutSystems architecture practices: layered modular design, dependency management, code quality. 

• DevOps fundamentals in OutSystems: LifeTime, deployments, environment management, release versioning, basic CI/CD. 

• Security mindset: RBAC, SSO, secure integrations, OWASP, data protection. 

• Strong troubleshooting skills: caching, aggregates, pagination, logging/monitoring. 

• Strong communication & stakeholder collaboration; mentoring; Agile/Scrum experience. 

• Fluent English (spoken and written). 

Nice-to-Have (Strong Plus):

• Platform tools: AI Mentor, Service Center, LifeTime Analytics/APM. 

• Advanced architecture: DDD, microservices/SOA, lean principles. 

• CI/CD beyond LifeTime: Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions / Jenkins / GitLab CI. 

• Cloud & enterprise integration: Azure/AWS/GCP, Entra ID (Azure AD), API Management. 

• Integration Studio extensions: C#/.NET; building/exposing services. 

• Event & messaging: Kafka, RabbitMQ; enterprise integration patterns. 

• ODC experience: migration from OS11 (Reactive to ODC). 

• Mobile deep expertise: offline sync, plugins, push notifications, store releases. 

• Observability: App Insights, ELK, alerting, incident response.
