Job Description
Changeis, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support enterprise IT shared services operations within a cabinet-level federal agency environment. This senior technical role provides systems engineering leadership, architectural guidance, and oversight of cloud engineering activities across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities

Lead testing and validation of cloud and virtualization systems across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS

Maintain deep expertise in cloud and virtualization technologies (automation, containers, networking, storage, scaling)

Lead systems engineering lifecycle activities including architecture, design, integration, and operations

Conduct functional analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition

Perform performance, lifecycle cost, and decision analysis

Provide daily supervision and direction to cloud engineering staff

Advise leadership on cloud strategy, migration planning, and technology roadmaps
Required Qualifications
-
Minimum 7 years managing cloud environments

Extensive experience in cloud provider selection, implementation, data migration, and capacity planning

At least one Associate or Professional-level cloud certification

Proven experience in systems engineering lifecycle activities

Supervisory or team lead experience

Ability to obtain and maintain a federal public trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Systems Engineering (Master’s preferred)

Multiple cloud certifications

Federal IT governance experience (FITARA, TBM)

Familiarity with enterprise architecture and COE standards

ITIL Managing Professional or Expert certification
