Job Description

We’re looking for a Head of Cloud & Linux Platforms Unit to join us at Telia.

I’m Nerijus Šarnas, leading the IT Service Management unit at Telia Lietuva, and I’m searching for someone ready to grow with us. We’re a supportive, forward-thinking team focused on strengthening how we run, improve, and scale critical IT services that support our customers and business every day.

What you’ll do:

You will lead a team of Cloud and Linux engineers — platform specialists and team leads — responsible for managing and evolving platforms that underpin both internal operations and B2B client services.

• Lead and develop a multi-team unit covering public clouds (AWS, Azure), Kubernetes container platforms (Tanzu, OpenShift), VMware private cloud, storage, and Linux OS

• Ensure reliable, secure, and high-quality platform service delivery — with clear ownership, SLAs, and accountability

• Drive automation, standardization, and lifecycle management across managed platforms

• Work closely with team leads on people development, capacity planning, and technical direction

• Collaborate with the B2B division to support and grow ICT managed service offerings built on Cloud and Linux foundations

• Represent the unit in cross-organizational discussions — with stakeholders from ITSM, ITS, B2B, and executive leadership

• Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including AI and automation use cases with measurable impact

What will help you thrive in this role:

You are a technically grounded leader who combines solid engineering understanding with a broad, context-driven way of thinking. You know how to ask the right questions, go deep when it matters, and connect technical decisions to business outcomes.

• Proven experience in leading IT professionals — engineers or technical specialists — with a strong sense of delivery and accountability

• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure — you understand how systems are built, operated, and evolve

•Hands-on experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) or Linux OS environments

• Ability to think broadly: you look for context, ask good questions, reason logically, and know when to dig deeper

• Result-oriented: you set clear expectations, follow through, and know how to get things done in complex environments

• Fluency in Lithuanian and English

Bonus points for:

•Experience managing through team leads — not just individual contributors — and developing leadership capability within your team

•Familiarity with managed services, SLA-driven operations, or B2B IT service contexts

Monthly salary range for this position 6160 - 8500 Eur (gross) + annual performance bonuses. Although it may vary depending on your skills and experience.
