Yard Attendant – (CDL Required)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (overtime as needed)

 

Position Overview

Custom Truck One Source has an immediate opening for a Yard Attendant with experience operating light- and heavy-duty trucks and equipment. This role is responsible for maintaining an organized yard and shop, supporting production operations, and transporting equipment as needed.

A Class B CDL (or higher) is required. Most driving is local, typically within one hour of the shop, transporting utility trucks to OEM shops and customer locations approximately 2–3 days per week. Experience operating a forklift a plus. 

Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are preferred but not required.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment, follow safety protocols, and wear required PPE
• Operate light- and heavy-duty trucks and equipment on-site
• Load and unload equipment for incoming and outgoing drivers
• Verify received products match packing slips and/or purchase orders; enter into system
• Identify and report discrepancies or part swaps
• Stock production areas with truck components
• Perform general yard and shop upkeep (washing equipment, sweeping, trash removal, etc.)
• Check in and document equipment deliveries
• Transport trucks and equipment to off-site locations (paint shop, service facilities, customer sites, etc.)
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; must be at least 18 years old
• Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
• Ability to stay focused and limit personal phone use during work hours
• Willingness to learn and operate commercial vehicles
• Valid driver’s license and Class B CDL (or higher)
• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing priorities
• Basic computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay productive
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and audiogram
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); Spanish is a plus

Working Conditions

• Primarily outdoor and shop work in various weather conditions
• Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and temperature extremes
• Use of equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and carts
• Safety shoes required; additional PPE as needed
• Regular full-time schedule (40+ hours/week) with potential overtime

Physical Requirements

• Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling
• Ability to stand and walk on concrete or uneven surfaces for extended periods (8+ hours/day)
• Climbing ladders and equipment (over 10 feet)
• Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• Regular use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment controls
