About this role:
Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Banwell) is seeking a licensed Class 1 Funeral Director to join our Care Centre team in the Windsor region. Reporting to our Care Centre Manager, this full-time role is ideal for an experienced embalmer who is passionate about delivering exceptional decedent care and supporting high standards across multiple locations.
In this role, you will focus primarily on embalming and care centre operations, while also supporting key funeral service functions such as documentation, obituary management, and service preparation. You will contribute to the care and presentation of the deceased, ensuring dignity, professionalism, and attention to detail at every step.
This position supports seven funeral homes in the region and includes weekends on a rotating schedule.

Salary: $56,000 - $70,000
Key Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities:
- Possesses a Class 1 Funeral Director’s license with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed Funeral Director.
- Displays proven, superior arrangement, directing and embalming skills.
- Passion for customer care demonstrated in previous professional experiences.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills with the ability to partner will all levels of the organization.
- Exemplifies Arbor’s values of compassion, integrity, trust, teamwork, belonging and excellence.
- Excellent knowledge of Funeral Home procedures and business practices including Funeral Home Procedures Manuals.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract.
Responsibilities:
- Arranges, coordinates and directs funeral ceremonies.
- Meets and surpasses the needs and expectations of the families we serve.
- Maintains active involvement within the community and is committed to building and establishing effective relationships and rapport.
- Arranging the transfer of the decedent from the place of death and/or going to place of death and performing the transfer.
- Preparing the decedent according to the wishes of the survivors and requirements of the law including transferring the decedent from stretcher to preparation table, washing, arterial and cavity embalming or basic preparation. Clothing the decedent and transferring the decedent from the preparation table to casket.
- Completing and maintaining all related documentation, including but not limited to embalming reports and decedent logs.
- Arranging the transfer of the decedent to and from the crematorium.
- Ensuring all legal and ethical requirements are communicated to the staff and fully adhered to.
